Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 24, 2025

Look, we get it - nobody actually reads these things. But here's the deal: we're just a local shop in Vancouver who cares about your rides AND your privacy. So here's what we do with your info, written like actual humans.

What This Is About

So here's the thing - we run a performance shop, not some huge corporation. When you walk through our doors at 1247 Industrial Way or shoot us an email, you're trusting us with both your car and your personal details. That trust matters to us.

This privacy policy explains what info we collect, why we need it, and what we do (and don't do) with it. We're based in Vancouver, BC, so we follow Canadian privacy laws - specifically PIPEDA and all that jazz.

Bottom line? We'll never sell your data to some sketchy third party. We're gearheads, not data brokers.

Info We Collect

When you work with us, we're gonna need some basic stuff to actually do our job:

Contact Details

Your name, phone number, email - y'know, so we can actually tell you when your car's ready or if we found something weird during a tune. Pretty standard stuff.

Vehicle Information

Make, model, VIN, mileage, what mods you've already done - basically everything about your ride. Can't tune what we don't know about, right?

Service History

What work we've done, when we did it, parts we used. Helps us track your build progress and remember what setup works best for your specific car.

Payment Info

Credit card details, billing address - though we don't actually store your full card numbers ourselves. That goes through our payment processor who's got way better security than us.

Website Usage

IP address, browser type, pages you visit on our site. Nothing creepy, just helps us fix broken links and see which services people are actually interested in.

How We Use It

We're not gonna beat around the bush here - we use your info to run our business and take care of your car:

  • Schedule your appointments and send reminders (cause we know you forget sometimes)
  • Order the right parts for your specific build
  • Keep track of your service history so we don't repeat work or miss something important
  • Send you quotes and invoices
  • Answer your questions about that weird noise your car's making
  • Maybe send occasional updates about new services or special deals - but only if you're cool with it
  • Improve our website based on what people actually look at
  • Comply with legal stuff if we absolutely have to (warranty claims, insurance, that kinda thing)

We won't spam you with daily emails or sell your info to random companies. That's not our style.

Who We Share With

Here's the honest truth - sometimes we gotta share your info, but it's pretty limited:

Parts Suppliers

When we order custom parts for your build, suppliers might need your vehicle info. That's just how it works.

Payment Processors

Credit card companies and payment gateways need to process your payments. They've got their own privacy policies too.

Legal Requirements

If the law says we gotta hand over info (court orders, safety recalls, etc.), we don't really have a choice. But that's super rare.

Service Providers

Our hosting company, email service, accounting software - the tech stuff that keeps the shop running. They're all legit and bound by their own privacy rules.

What we DON'T do: sell your data, share it with marketing companies, or give it to competitors. Period.

Cookies & Tracking

Yeah, our website uses cookies - not the chocolate chip kind, unfortunately. These little files help the site remember you and work better.

We use 'em for stuff like:

  • Keeping you logged in when you check your service history
  • Remembering your preferences
  • Seeing which pages are popular (helps us know what content to add)
  • Basic analytics - nothing fancy or invasive

Most browsers let you block cookies if you want, but it might make the site work kinda weird. Your call though.

Your Rights

Under Canadian privacy laws, you've got some rights when it comes to your personal info. Here's what you can do:

Access Your Data

Wanna know what info we've got on you? Just ask. We'll send you a copy within a reasonable timeframe.

Correct Mistakes

If we've got something wrong (like an old phone number), let us know and we'll fix it ASAP.

Delete Your Info

Want us to delete your data? We can do that, unless we legally need to keep it for tax/warranty reasons.

Opt Out of Marketing

Don't wanna get our occasional emails? There's an unsubscribe link in every message, or just tell us directly.

To exercise any of these rights, just shoot us an email at info@eldrakarodyssey.info or call (604) 555-7890. We'll handle it without giving you the runaround.

Security Stuff

We take security seriously - probably not NSA-level, but pretty darn good for a local shop. Here's what we do:

  • SSL encryption on our website (that little padlock in your browser)
  • Secure servers with regular backups
  • Limited access - only folks who actually need your info can see it
  • We don't write down credit card numbers on random papers (seriously, some places still do that)
  • Regular software updates to patch security holes

That said, no system is 100% bulletproof. If there's ever a data breach (knock on wood), we'll let you know right away and tell you what happened.

Physical records are locked up in our office, and we shred stuff when we don't need it anymore.

How Long We Keep Your Data

We don't hoard info forever. Here's roughly how long we keep stuff:

  • Service records: 7 years (tax and warranty requirements)
  • Contact info: As long as you're an active customer, plus a couple years after your last visit
  • Payment records: 7 years (again, tax stuff)
  • Website analytics: 2 years max
  • Marketing emails: Until you unsubscribe

After that, we delete it or anonymize it so it can't be traced back to you.

Third-Party Links

Sometimes we link to other websites - parts suppliers, manufacturer sites, whatever. Once you click those links, you're on their turf and their privacy policies apply.

We try to only link to reputable places, but we can't control what they do with your info. So read their policies too if you're concerned.

Changes to This Policy

Privacy laws change, our business evolves, so we might update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll update the date at the top and post it here.

For major changes, we'll probably send an email or post something on social media. But honestly? It's a good idea to check back here occasionally anyway.

Questions or Concerns?

Look, if you've got questions about this privacy stuff, or you're worried about something, just reach out. We're real people and we'll give you straight answers.
